Rather than lying on your bed wrestling with the zipper and holding your breath, imagine slipping into your favorite pair of jeans with ease, feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin. Or wearing your favorite dress without the Spanx. For many of us, the journey to achieving our desired body shape can feel like an uphill and never-ending battle. From fad diets to strenuous exercise routines to prescription medication, the pursuit of shedding inches can often seem impossible.

But what if there was a non-invasive solution that could help you contour your body with no side effects, no downtime, and no drugs? Sometimes, we just need a little help to get back on track; a kickstart to changing the habits that got us here in the first place. Enter LED light therapy for body contouring – a game-changing technology that not only promises results but also ensures safety and convenience.

How does LED light therapy work for body contouring?

It sounds wild, but it’s science.

LED light therapy works by emitting specific wavelengths of light that penetrate beneath the skin's surface into the subcutaneous layer, targeting adipocytes (fat cells), and stimulating their natural metabolic process. This process, known as photobiomodulation (PBM), triggers a series of biochemical reactions within the cells, ultimately leading to the release of stored fat.

This is done by utilizing these specific output and wavelengths of light (red and near infrared) to stimulate natural cellular responses in the skin and subcutaneous fat. As light energy stimulates cellular energy production (ATP), adipocytes are activated. This creates temporary pores in fat cell membranes, causing the fat lipids inside to leak into the interstitial space and be eliminated by the body's lymphatic and circulatory systems. As a result, the amount of fat stored within cells is reduced, leading to fast, visible improvements in both body shape and skin appearance.¹

What does the research say about LED light therapy for body sculpting?

According to a comprehensive study¹ published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy, participants who underwent light therapy for body contouring experienced an average reduction of 2.5 inches across targeted areas after just eight sessions. These findings highlight the effectiveness of red and near-infrared light therapy as a viable solution for those looking for a non-surgical and pharmaceutical free approach to body sculpting.

What are the benefits of red light therapy for body contouring?

There are several advantages of using low-level light therapy (LLLT) to slim and shape the body.

Non-invasive and non-destructive body sculpting

Fat cells aren’t all bad...they are part of you and your biology. Years of research is showing us that fat cells play a critical role in sensing and responding to changes in systemic energy balance.² Unlike invasive procedures such as liposuction or cool sculpting where the fat cells are destroyed and carry inherent risks and downtime, LED light therapy is entirely non-invasive and requires no recovery time. This means you can achieve your desired results without disrupting your life and without destroying your body’s fat cells or worrying about the long-term effects.

Fat cells respond quickly to LED light therapy treatment

Clinical research has demonstrated that LED light therapy works immediately on fat cells. In our own observational study, participants experienced measurable results after just one 30-minute treatment. After four weeks, undergoing three 30-minute treatments per week, participants averaged a 2-inch reduction in waist circumference and a 1-inch reduction in thigh circumference.

A drug-free and prescription-free option for body contouring

You’d have to be living under a rock to not hear about the recent wave of weight loss drugs and injections available. While these drugs demonstrate fast, effective results for weight loss, it’s not for everyone and many are concerned about the lack of information on long-term use and side effects given they are relatively new to the market. LED red light therapy is a compelling body slimming solution because it offers a proven, safe, and natural alternative or compliment to prescription drugs.

LED Light therapy offers many therapeutic benefits for the whole body

Red and near-infrared light energy not only target fat cells, but are well-studied and proven to effectively treat a multitude of skin conditions, reduce inflammation, increase circulation, relieve muscle and joint pain, and more. As the body of research grows, we are learning more about the infinite powers of light therapy. Humans are built to absorb light energy, and anywhere you have cells exposed to specific wavelengths of light, ongoing treatment will promote cellular energy production and repair. The compounding effects light therapy over time can be life-changing in our quest to achieve total body wellness.

The body contouring treatment mode contains red (640nm) and near infrared wavelengths (880nm). The wrinkles and aches and pains treatment modes contain a combination of blue (465nm), red (640nm), and near infrared (880nm) wavelengths. Each treatment mode is a proprietary algorithm that produces the correct combinations of wavelengths and fluence that deliver the results supported by clinical studies.

Body contouring protocol

The CONTOUR protocol couldn’t be simpler. For optimal results, use the device 3 times per week for 4 weeks. Keep in mind, every body is different so results and treatment times vary from person to person. Most users report results after just one treatment, and you will need to continue to use CONTOUR regularly to maintain results.
